One of Broadlands best pub-restaurants

Nice pub and restaurant. Only fault, too easy to walk past!

Mooring Description :
good
Food Description :
One of the few Broads pubs that really has upped its game. Not gourmet food but good quality home made fair that sets the standard for others to follow.

Food Description :
We ate lunch in the bear garden. Very reasonable price and good service. In the evening my wife and I enjoyed first class cuisine and service. A welcome change to some of the riverside pub grub we had this week.

We called in on a Friday night for a quick pint on the way back to the moorings. The place was very busy and seems to be the local youngsters pub so was quite noisy. New "Robison's" restaurant has opened - had a look at the menu but didn't eat there but the three vegetarian options sounded a little un-inspiring. Ales on offer were Broadside, IPA and Timothy Taylor's Golden Best-we opted for the latter which was OK but not exceptional.

Mooring Description :
Moorings available at the Staithe which is just a few minutes walk away - these were quite noisy on a Friday night as it seemed to be the meeting point for a group of very rowdy local teens and there appeared to be a generator running nearby too. We will probably stick to our preferred Loddon mooring spot of Pyes Mill in future and walk across the field into the village.
Food Description :
Didn't eat but menu looked resonably priced although vegetarian options lacking in imagination.

Kings Head for Tea

A bit disappointed - not being a Man U supporter felt a little overwhelmed by football memorabilia and large screen showing football in both bars. Friendly barman welcomed two cold children and two cold adults - beer good and crisps excellent.

Mooring Description :
Moored on free moorings good 10 minute walk away.
Food Description :
Chips and ... is all I can say. Chips were fine, the rest disappointing - forget fibre and green stuff. We were alone in the dining room which looked sad and unloved.

Good village pub

Friendly pub with pool table and a very good juke box. Some good rock stuff on there. Beer sampled was Wherry. On good form, albeit a tad warm. To be fair this was on one of the hottest days of the year. Landlord friendly and helpful as were the locals. Will certainly go back again.

Only go for lunch or dinner if you have the rest of your life to wait for it

Pub setting ok and average beer garden, good selection of beers and food

Mooring Description :
Moorings on the common ground (picnic area) were fab, bit of a walk to the town but if my 2 year old can manage it I'm sure everyone can.
Food Description :
Don't eat at this pub as you can only stay at any overnight mooring for 24hrs!!!! We ordered a meal on the Saturday evening on the first bank holiday and waited for over 2 hours, the staff kept saying it was coming etc, and then finally enough was enough when he came over and told us after 2 hours that the chef had only just started our order, I wouldnt mind so much but the people before us only ordered a salad and the had waited over 1hr 1/2. My son in the end fell asleep as by now it was 9pm and we ended up carrying him back to the boat without anything to eat. Certainly give that one a miss when we are in Loddon again!!!
