Great pub in a beautiful location. Please support this place so it never closes again.

Mooring Description :
Lovely quiet moorings with a great view across the broad. My favourite moorings on the broads.
Food Description :
Meal was very good. This is our 4th visit to this pub in the last year and we have always been more than happy with the food. On this occasion the beef stroganoff was excellent.

Called in here last Monday evening hoping to eat ... unfortunately Monday is the chefs day off so no food was available. Had a pleasant pint of Broadside and sat outside to drink it. Speakers have been fixed up outside the pub and the loud, soft rock music that was blaring out of them was somewhat off-putting. Have to agree with the previous reviewer though .... very nice toilets!

Mooring Description :
Moorings available in the Pleasure Boat Dyke charged at £3.00 per night irrespective of whether you are eating or not. The quay heading is in need of some work though and the ground is a little uneven in places so take care if walking back in the dark.

Pleasure Boat Inn, Hickling Broad

Pretty little Pub in a lovely location though the surrounding buildings, car parks looked a little run down, almost derelict, it was out of season Sunday 18th Feb. The staff were friendly and the Ale was excellent, the bar is cosy and a games room is also available, the loos were dated but spotless, all in all a very welcoming establishment

Mooring Description :
Several staithes are directly in front of the Pubs restaurant area and Beer Garden and access by road is good also with plentiful parking and even public loos, there is a slipway for small craft, I can imagine this is a very popular spot on a summers day.
Food Description :
The restaurant offered a limited sunday lunch only menu with a choice of beef pork or lamb, this was due to being out of season and makes perfect sense, Mrs Crazydavefour went for the Lamb and I had the Beef, the vegetables were plentifull and varied but were overcooked and not very warm, the meat was generous but relied on the gravy for heat, in defence of the kitchen it was a cold day even in the restaurant, despite that the taste was superb and we ate the lot. Excellent value, under a fiver a head, we look forward to visiting again in the season with the kitchen firing on all cylinders and no bitter chills to cool the food before you get it

Scrapes an OK

Came here by default after a disastrous evening at the Greyhound. It would be difficult to mess up a couple of pints of lager consumed in the beer garden!

Mooring Description :
Adjacent staithe or better still try Whispering Reeds next door. In our case no charge for mooring when using the electric pole.

Dreadful Food

Last time I was there, the food was truly uneatable. We complained and were told we were not the only ones who had done so. No other sympathy was offered.

Mooring Description :
There are plenty of moorings although the space is narrow. Can be busy in summer.
Food Description :
Worst pub food I have ever had.

A little disappointing

Friendly and cheerful, good beer, happy to book a table at short notice.

Mooring Description :
Limited and usually busy in the dyke. Try Whispering Reeds boatyard, or anchoring off is possible in calm weather.
Food Description :
Vegetarian option (courgette, brie and almond crumble) was tasty but padded-out with sliced potato, salad was lettuce and little else, so-called "giant" cod only a normal size.

Concentrating on the locals

Less friendly than in the past (though to be fair they did not levy the mooring fee on a very quiet evening, which encouraged us to go in).

Mooring Description :
Rather limited by the number of small private craft that seem to be permanent.

nice pub

Had a couple of meals in here the food was hot and nicely seved. thought the beer was a bit expensive .

Mooring Description :
If you have a dinghy moor in the broad as it gets busy in the summer. And it saves the mooring fee
Food Description :
Food reasonable value, piping hot and goodly servings.

Good and friendly

Not pretentious, serves some good ales, pleasant restaurant (even though the roof leaked in a late-July downpour).

Mooring Description :
Good but limited morings at the pub staithe (larger boats beware of the bar halfway down the dyke), or use the other dyke towards the Whispering Reeds boatyard.
Food Description :
Good straightforward honest food at a fair price.
