There is Hip, 2 things, the lack of investment by the owners and the rent they try to extort from the tenant, PUBCOS are killing the pub industry in this country.

We came to Potter for a nights stay in Wood`s yard this week, and we planned to have a meal and a drink in the Broadshaven Tavern.
Shock horror it was all shut down and the grass 3 feet high in the beer garden.
Dissapointed and saddened by this we had to retire back to our boat and make our own mash.
We were in there last year and it seemed then that things were on the up,it looked very tidy, and the grub was great and we were well served by the staff.
Surely this place could run a profit due to it`s siting,or is it the "shareholders" Grab..that kills it?

Captain! I think this barometer
needs winding up,it hasn`t
moved all day.

Stayed at potter heigham last year and beer garden was always packed. Should be a goldmine  with boaters on holiday.and for visitors who travel to lathems. Always alot of people around in potter heigham. So must be more to it that we dont know about.

Let us hope that is what happens, and that they do food.

Without a pub (yes I know there is the Falgate) there is nothing to attract folk to stay overnight at Potter.

Work has been going on for some weeks now! They are obviously spending a lot of money on the place, so cannot imagine that they will not do food! Let's hope it is good quality and reasonably priced!

Well last time I went they did a cracking mixed grill.

But chicken nuggets and beans would be a start, would keep the kids happy at least......

I remember the Broadshaven from the 90's i'm sure it had pool tables and fruit machines, lots of hirers mooring up to have a few drinks and party on a Saturday night, I seem to remember the floor was a bit "sticky" too.....but I also know my dad and uncle used to nip up to the pub in the launch after we'd gone to bed and i'm sure they came back far too late and got in trouble......  Smile

Nothing been said for a while! Any news of the progress made and likely re-opening?
