Thanks for the surprising pictures. I can understand why the planners are watching this.

There seems to be a worrying lack of beer-engines on that bar I do hope it's not going to be a'Prosecco and lager with a slice of lime in the neck' establishment.

Looks a bit posh.

Hope that doesn't mean prices will be prohibitive........

Of course it is going to expensive, if you think anything else you are wearing rose tinted glasses and looking for flying pigs. Tinhat  LOL

Somehow I don't think the Norada Pub & Restaurant is going to work. If you read their FB page it says they come from London and operate 5 similar establishments=.
I know the Broads haven was the pits but is the Norada really what Potter Heigham needs. I get the feeling that they think the Broads are like Henley On Thames and that sort of clientele. Before everybody shouts me down I know the White Horse at Neatishead is somewhat upmarket but that is not right on the river and I am also aware of the Lion at Thurne has changed definitely for the better.

But a Pub right on the river I and my fellow sailors prefer the Nelson Head and The White Horse at Upton

I hope I'm proved wrong.

.

best wishes
PD

Despite the decor, I doubt if it will become a successful strip club.

I'm afraid that what we saw a month or so ago was most definitely not upmarket. It was roughly painted on the exterior and the style was very "dodgy night club" . Everything was getting covered in black paint ( badly) by a selection of young people in that sort of student paiting party look  and with Ibiza music belting out - I had wondered why on that particular sunny day the benches on the riverbank outside the pub were all empty and there was not a single person even standing by the river, yet the other side of the bridge was heaving with visitors. There were broken chairs discarded on their sides in the very long "beer garden"  grass and some sort of chipboard had been erected as a fence ( and was getting its black daubing like everything else). It was in our view a bigger eyesore than it had been at its worst times in the past. Yet I thought I had read somewhere that tens of thousands of pounds had been spent on it...

Sorry but I can't see this being what Potter ( or any other Broads location ) needs, or wants.

I ventured in recently. Had a choice of a couple of real ales so not bad on that front. I had a Lacons Encore which was in fine order. I did not notice my round being expensive.
Staff friendly enough which is more than can be said for one foul mouthed customer.
Nor were there skicky carpets and the general grime of previous times.
However, very night club in feel, dark inside. Better than before but not really my type of place.
