Just read this on their blog,

Just a quick note to let all our friends and customers know that as of the end of the 2017 season, we will no longer be operating our hire fleet and we will be selling the boatyard.  We have decided to start a new chapter of our lives.  Nigel will be continuing to work on private boats from a different location.  We know this is a way off yet but felt we had to let you all know as some of you like to book well in advance and this will give you ample time to make alternative arrangements for 2018.   This announcement will no way affect bookings for this or next year and business will continue as usual until then.  Best regards Nigel and Sara.

What a shame! I have very fond memories going back to when I was a 13 year old working there in the school holidays. I remember Alan, his wife, Janet, dad  Ernie and grandad. Hopefully the business will continue under a new owner.

I'm beginning to think it's me. Confused

I hired boats from Topcraft at Oulton Broad for many years but they stopped hiring out.

I then hired boats from Swancraft at Brundall for many years but they stopped hiring out.

I have this year booked from Royalls for the 1st time and am now due to board Royall Velvet 2 from this Saturday for a week. It appears that they have decided to cease hiring in 2018 before I have even had a chance to board the boat.

I think it must be me!!!  Scared

Anyway good luck to the owners of Royalls and I look forward to meeting them on Saturday Cheers

Kind Regards
Alan...

Sad to read the news of their intended closure. Although we haven’t hired from them, the numerous recommendations from those who have over the years bears testament to the level of care and commitment of their staff and very high standard of the vessels within the fleet.

We can but wish everyone at Royalls all the best and good luck for whatever the future holds post the 2017 season.

Steve.

It was Royall Courier that gave me the bug to buy my own boat. Back in 2000, my wife went to one of the Greek islands with her sister and I hired Courier for a week on my own.

Being on my own, I was happy to cruise all day and went all over the place, north and south. I had such a fantastic time, I just had to buy my own boat, which I did later that year.

Been skint ever since!  boat-power

Any of you big boatyards out there reading this, get down there and sign up those lovely lads about to loose there jobs. You won't find any better.
I feel so sorry for them.

I just looked at Royall Diamond, looks great, but I wouldn't want to consider it and make an offer say, knowing that it is going out on hire again, I would see it as our boat... Keep your hands off lol.
In fact many years back, we were about to make an offer on a Burland 26, and when we asked can we pay now, and cruise ASAP, well we are taking it out for a few days....
They lost the sale there and then.

best regards, Richard.

Can't wait to be back on our boat on
the Broads.
