Interesting:

We often comment on the lack of facilities around the Broads in terms of tearoom type venues which are popular with a wide range of visitors such as walkers, families, bird watchers etc as well as boaters. We often see holidaymakers or day trippers wandering along the lanes looking a little bemused and with a certain searching look in their eyes.  I know that they are often seeking refreshment as  we have been asked on numerous occasions  for the nearest  option - not everyone wants a pub either!

So, another option seems great to me. And far as I am aware there is no guarantee in business that a competitor will not open nearby  -competition being the operative word  - so as the BA Planning dept have stated, it is not a basis to refuse an application.

We will visit if the place opens, and review it here.

I'm with you on this one, Kate. A bit of competition may be very healthy.

I've just read on FB that permission has been refused. Perhaps they should have delayed kicking the BA off the Woodbastwick mooring until after the application came before the Planning Committee  Evil Grin

My post was made with tongue very firmly in cheek.
