The powers that be in Norfolk are once again targetting the A47 big time with their rapid profit division...sorry road safety camera initiative. This weekend should secure a nice little windfall for them. Their current MO is to set themselves up on the bridges near Swaffham and Dereham to catch unsuspecting speeders who have become frustrated behind the ever-present HGVs sniding up the route. I do not condone speeding but why give these vultures easy money...watch out people...

ps I got caught in March!  Blush

Hi All
please remember you are coming to our beloved Norfolk to chug around at 3mph .
so speed limits are there for you to get to us safely
cos we want you to come back again and again.
does an extra half hour getting to the boat yard really matter,
cheers for now.

I don't want to start an argument on our nice friendly forum, but I have to agree wholeheartedly with Roya on this one.

I've lived here for 4 years now and the frequency and severity of accidents on the A47 (and A149, Wroxham/Stalham/Potter/Yarmouth road) is frightening.

They have 'safety' cameras almost every day, but if it stops even just one family from losing a loved one it's worth it.

The next time you pass along the A149 in particular, just try counting the number of bunches of flowers you pass, and remember that each one represents at least one road death at that spot. They are spaced out at average intervals of less than half a mile....   Frown
