As you come along the A146 at Beccles/Gillingham area,  there is a round about by the MacDonalds and the garage, over the way there is always cars parked.    It has always bugged us as to why?    Walkers, Church goers may be.

Women dont nag they just point things out...

There was one there a few weeks ago - it had a forsale sign on it.
I guessed the owner could be working in the garage or Mac D ???

There's a little piece of land between the garage and Macs where cars often used to park. That is now chained off and ever since the number of cars parked just off the roundabout has increased. I would imagine it is people car sharing on the way to work and leaving their cars at a mutally convenient point. Not uncommon around my way to see builders all meet up somewhere and then take it in turns to carry on into London in one car or van.

The Roundabout in question would work well for people from the Beccles area working in Norwich, or commuting to Yarmouth.

Happy to support the honest and reliable pubs and businesses of The Norfolk Broads.

Yes the idea of pooled cars has come up with the suggestion that may be folk were working at Bernard Matthews but I know they bus a lot of their workers in from around here.

They all work at McDonalds and the land they where parking on does not belong to them. All the staff are not happy but they need to park somewhere, They are banned from the main car park.

That is terrible that they cannot park at MacDonalds but are stuck over the road.

Exactly the same at the Pakefield, Lowestoft Mac D's.

Sounds like company policy then, not good crossing the road there at Gillingham.

Unfortunately it is often common for companies to ban their staff from using their car parks.
Morrisons in Cromer does this despite a very large and virtually never full car park. Hence their large number of staff park in the nearby residential road which infuriates the residents (one of which I know) as it makes it impossible for them to park.
Morrisons spout all the usual guff about community this or that but have made it clear that they do not really give a damn and will not change their policy.
Should be a planning issue with these organisations made to create ample staff parking spaces.
