As I understand it this development is not providing any additional visitor moorings the only ones needed just extending their boatyard moorings.

Comments from the minutes regarding Barnes, why are they giving time for discussion, they clearly agree it is a health and safety issue.
So if they allow the current situation to remain, can the committee members be sued if damage occurs to property and if someone is injured, can they be prosecuted as any company personnel can be if they are negligence in regard to health and safety.
---------------------------------------------
Members were in accordance with the views of the Navigation Committee. They acknowledged and welcomed the continued investment in the site by one of the largest hire boat operators. However, the Committee felt very strongly that the encroachment of this unauthorised development into the navigation area was deemed unacceptable for reasons of health and safety issues. They were keen for officers to seek a negotiated settlement but were concerned that a resolution was sought and achieved prior to the start of the holiday season, bearing in mind that this began with Easter at the end of March 2018
.
Members noted that the Authority had navigation powers with regard to safety aspects, but it was important that the planning issues were resolved and regularised in conjunction.
RESOLVED
(i)
that the unauthorised development at Barnes Brinkcraft into the
navigation area is unacceptable;
(ii)
that officers are authorised to negotiate the restriction on the vessel
length, an agreed mooring configuration, a scheme of management
in respect of the pontoon, and the removal of the build-out;
(iii)
that officers provide a verbal update on negotiations at the next
Planning Committee meeting on 2 February 2018 and provide a
written report for the Committee on 2 March 2018 on progress and
potential resolution.

Minutes from the February BA Planning meeting indicate only that "discussions" have taken place and a "draft agreement" to limit length of moored vessels achieved.
Will this include "out of hours" control as mentioned in earlier minutes I wonder?
No mention of the unauthorised build out of the spit of land!
This somewhat limited progress doesn't seem appropriate given the "grave concerns" recorded in the minutes of the Navigation Committee and the approach of Easter and the new season.
Is this matter at risk of disappearing into " the long grass" or its waterways equivalent?
Will planning "Brinkmanship" succeed?

Cheers, Johnboy

A bit strange that a couple who turn a field into a garden are forced to turn it back into a field yet it looks like Barnes are not being made to put the pontoon back to the size it was,
