Adi I'm pretty sure Richardson's don't charge private boats.

'Afternoon, Adrian ...

Just to add to Gary's comment - they usually prefer visitors to use either Heron or Merlin quays.

I have just checked on the Richardsons website and they do not charge for visiting private boat moorings although it does not specify if there is any charge for overnight moorings.

It is a shame that the Stalham Parish Staithe is being abused in this manner. Although the mooring is really limited to about three hire sized boats it is handy for smaller craft such as mine that can push up out of the way in shallower water next to the museum and the waterside cottage out of the way.

I feel sorry for that nice quiet elderly man in the small boat who spends all summer out on his boat with his dog (no boat name but regulars will know him). Stalham Staithe is one of his favourite moorings. He causes no trouble, leaves no rubbish and I think he is a very cherished member of the Broads Community. Hopefully the freeloaders will go elsware but with all the facilities such as Tescos, a petrol filling station, (is there a dole office nearby?) Evil Grin  it can be difficult. Perhaps the Broads Museum could be persuaded to police the mooring but unfortunately with itinerant (expletive! choose your own word!) it usually takes court orders and money from local decent honest HARD WORKING ratepayers to shift them.

I make no apologies for this post if some people to whom this post refers are offended and does not include the many people who live on boats, play by the rules and live in harmony with others on the many waterways of our country. Unfortunately these people give proper liveaboards a bad name.

Update!
Pelican is now moored at Ludham Bridge, On the grass bank just before the EA moorings.
The black hulled vessel has now been relocated to the shallower part of the staithe opposite the cottage.
There is now room for 2/3 boats to moor.

'Morning, Dzign ...

Entering Richardson's yard, the first set of moorings on your port side is Swan Quay, and the next two are Heron & Merlin - coming down from the burger van / carpark.

These were the vessels at Stalham Staithe this morning - two hire and three private. I believe the ones subject of the OP are the two at the right-hand end. Their appearance is no worse than many other boats and there was no litter evident. Whether tolls have been paid, BSS certs and insurance in force, is a matter for the BA. There are no restrictions that I am aware of regarding length of stay.
