The chinese chippy in Wroxham is ace.. I used to live in Sprowston and I'd always go to that chippy rather than the three shops that were round the corner from me. They're as cheap as chips (boom boom!!) and the food is great.. Especially the wedges!

There's a solid vote for the chippy at P.H. with my family... but I've always suspected that the view of boats going through the bridge helps the flavour.

I used to live in Potter Heigham, and we always used to go to Planet Codwood in Ludham, cos it was loads better.  That was a few years back though and though I've not been back, I believe the one in PH is much improved.  In my humble opinion, the best chippy in Norfolk is Thorpe Fish Bar in Thorpe St. Andrew.  In my not so humble opinion, the best chippies in the world are in Yorkshire.  If you're in Norwich and have six or seven hours to spare, try the Harlequin Fish Bar on Howard Street in Sheffield.

The worst chips I have ever had came from the chip shop in Wroxham near the bridge (not the Chinese one). I actually took them back and complained.

The shop near Potter Heigham Bridge is noted for its massive portions and for the extreme slowness of service. Chips are OK

Planet Codwood in Ludham is good but is not always open.

The one in Martham on the green used to be good but I have not been there for a while.

You're right about the "other" Wroxham chippy woodwose.. That seems to be the one all the tourists go to, it never seems to be open in the winter (I'm sure it is sometimes).. all the locals go in the Golden Fish. I did have some from there ages ago and they were pretty cr*p.

I would agree with the Palnet Codwood in Ludham.  Fish and chips cooked to order and excellent,  pizzas not no good, bit stodgy for me and its a shame they close so early (7.30)
