Hi Dave

Looks like we will be back on our home moorings at Sutton Staithe by Monday now Frown .

The other night and last night the domestic bank died, I was half expecting the batteries to give up the struggle, now they finally have! When we first got Braveheart back in late July last year I had to put 4 litres of water in them Gasp  and thought they would be dead then, but they have been fine up till now.

Well that's a job for next week, replace all three batteries.

We are now back at Ranworth and on mains shore power .

Here In Ranworth we have the 4 wherries Hathor, White Moth, Ardea and Olive, a beautiful sight indeed. Just been looking on board Hathor and White Moth.

Last night we saw an amusing sight, a hire boat puts its bow in to the bushes and the drops the mud weight, reverses off a few feet, we were thinking he's going to swing round and end up in the bushes later. But no they then start to deploy there rhond anchors, by tying them to the stern mooring ropes and throwing them out!!!!! I really didn't know rhond anchors worked in  water lol: luckily there was no wind so they didn't move to much.

John

Well we are now at How Hill mooring. Moored up just in time as shortly after we had some heavy rain, but that has now cleared away and the sun is back Smile .

While making a bit of late afternoon tea Richardsons Challenger decided to moor in front of us with less than an inch to spare, why they didn't use the 160 foot of mooring space behind us heaven knows. Well grabbing our handrails they held themselves off. We only dropping visitors off not stopping they shout!! On leaving hard astern just missing us they then go flat out forwards on the back swings and we get crushed between them and the bank!! Oh  don't worry so much they say that's what fenders are for!!! I think we do need some sort of training like a RYA Skippers ticket to stop these idiots, yes all us private boats would have to do the course as well but it might just see a reducition in hire boaters causing damage. I think it would also weed out some of the booze cruise type out as they wouldn't want to do a course for just one trip would they?

Rant over.

Now back to relaxing in the now somewhat quieter time here at How Hill. Looks like all the Richardsons boat have belted back up the Ant now, though I guess there will still be plenty passed as they rush to return the boats to base.

The photo is of the space they got Challenger in, just!!!!

Hi All

We are out again, this time for just over a week. With it being so busy we have headed South. Yesterday we crossed Breydon and overnight we moored at Burgh Castle, today we've moved onto Somerleyton .

Tomorrow we are off to Oulton Yacht Station to watch the powerboat racing .

Please to also report the replacement domestic battery bank are performing well, 3 x 115AH Yuasa batteries. Also the electric toilet and holding tank are working well. The Potta-Potti is no longer needed so we now have our shower room back which is great.

Attatched is a photo of the moorings here at Somerleyton, which are now pretty full!

More  as we move on.

John

Kind regards, John(Captain
Joshie), Jo & Toby.

The Yacht Station moorings are full which is to be expected for a Thursday night, have a look on the webcam at the racing and moorings if you can't be here.

Is Oulton busy John, we should be out from tomorrow night depending on the weather. Not sure where we are heading to but may just head for Beccles.
