we returned 22/10 from 3 weeks on Southern Horizon we were due to set off on Oct 1st but on the Thursday Garry from New Horizon rang said our boat had been returned early and would we like to go the next day which of course we were pleased to do so .We had a good 3 weeks we went up to PotterHiegham on the 1st to see if we could get under the bridge no luck but the pilot told us to come back the following week when it was a neep tide to sse if we could , so we set off and went down to the Southern rivers for a wwek which are so much quieter plenty of mooring spaces the first night we spent at the Berney moorings which we love only 2 other boats there and the rest of the week was spent at Rockland Loddon and Geldesone whererich m we were the only boat in the moorings and only 2 others in the pub we also mad our usual visit to Wheat FEN such a lovely place.we went back over Breydon on the Friday were going to get water at Acle but it was so bust so went down to Upton managed to get in there and water from the boat yard there very friendly people the next day we wemt back up to PH and the pilot took us under the bridge the highlight of our holiday we spent 4 wonderful days at Hickling only boat in the Pleasure Boat moorings and araich was pleased the sold decent Adnams beer we saw Bearded tits at Martham reserve and Cranes flying overhead we saw about 2 boats in the 4 nights never known it so quiet we cane back in the Wednesday low water was suppose to be at 430 but we were taken through at 12 30 a low tide for once we then spent the rest of the week up the Ant and down at Ranworth got our Xmas cards from the Norfolk wildlife trusr shop there , before filing up with fuel at boulters and headin back down the Southern rivers for our last week mch quieter there and no rushing to find moorings we had our 36th weeding anniversary mooted at Pyles MIll at Loddon complete with a achinese take away and champagne no where better we went back northon 20th and spent our last 2 nights at Irstead and UPTON before sadly taking the boat back to New Horizon for the last time a great shame they. are closing it down . we had a great 3 weeks saw numerous king fishers and otters and seals amongst many others. Rich did a fair bit of running we talked to lots of interesting friendly people what we were shocked at was the number of boats on the rivers well after sunset using torches to see by especially on the Ant and on enight even saw aboat moor at Berney then turn round and went over to Brough Castel when it wa slmost pitch black we have never seen this before in all our years on the broads heres to the next time.
