Our 'Discoverer' at Broads Tours is a 39, but with a modified superstructure. She was built in 1977 and was previously called 'Lea Maid'. I think she is licenced for 40 passengers, and being MCA approved she would have had to have been heel tested when she was commissioned. I don't think I can get hold of any drawings, but if you are anywhere near Wroxham you would be welcome to come and see her.

Hello Skipper, are you one of the skippers for Broads Tours then? If so I suspect you have plenty of stories that would be of more than a little interest here. Perhapes we should start a new thread 'Holiday Makers from heaven and hell'  Evil Grin

I could have sworn the book said turn right at the yellow marker at Yarmouth. I think that was coming the other way! Bill...

Sorry Andy no, I was addressing Skipper, things do this on Richard's site but we put up with it, because otherwise he'd take his ball home and sail in the Nederlands....... Scared

Hi Bill, yes I'm an engineer and skipper from Broads Tours. I used to work for Aston Boats in Loddon until it closed down, so I know you and your yard. I'm Patrick if you remember me. I also worked for Valerie and Tony at Pacific for their last four seasons. We first met when I admired a lovely varnished Moores cruiser on your yard. Hope you are keeping well.

Re the Broads boat that you skipper out of Littlehampton. Can you tell us what its name was when on the Broads and if it has retained that name?

i got the boat from my best friend who died.
he got it from a london marina sorry dont no which one.
then i converted it to a 12 seater passenger boat,
she is now named freedom.
and everyone comments about the holidays they had on the broards, when they se her.
ive just replaced the engine and hydrolics so hopfully get anouther thirty years out of her.
