If Calor and the other companies made the return of surplus bottles easier I am sure they would get a lot more back Advertising a amnesty with free collection would help as the sites they offer to take them back are few and far between!
But you have to take them in, and the guy I dealt with (Norwich) didn't appear to be aware of the scheme and was quite offish ! I did get it credited against the purchase of a 3.9kg Propane for winter. Also they checked my address was genuine and haven't just picked one up off the roadside ?
Gas bottles have always been difficult to return little wonder many were illegally scrapped a few years ago I realise simply giving money to people for bottles would lead to certain members of the community just picking them up and getting the money for them but there must be a easy way to get some back in circulation
