Nigel,

Ludham is one of my favourite and most visited places on the northern rivers. The archive web site proves what I've always thought about the village; that it has a  really strong community feel to the place. Fantastic web site Nigel, I'll be looking at it again and again.

Steve.

Hi All

I am glad to hear that you are all enjoying the photographs.

Steve - You are right about Ludham having a strong community. There is a lot going on here.

Anyway.... I have now added the last Boardman album that I currently have 1915-1917. Some great photographs in this one. I have chosen just 25 of them. Look out for the Hunstanton Lifeboat being launched and the Fire Drill at Carrow Works. Some good ones of How Hill including the extension being built. Much more besides.

I have also added a new page on our ongoing New Textile Project. There is some really stunning needlework being done by Archive Group members at the moment. If anyone is interested in joining in, there is scope for more. this is under the "Interesting Stuff" button.

That's it for now. More Boardman pictures will follow later in the year.

Absolutely stunning photos Nigel and well done with the website! What a great privelage to be allowed acces to the Boardman albums which provide a fascinating glimpse into Broadland in the early part of the 20th Century. Some fabulous broads scenery and family shots but I also find the pictures of the estate workers extremely interesting, and the images of the 1912 floods are incredible!!

I think my favourite photograph has to be the picture of the twins playing at How Hill staithe with their model boats from the 1913-1914 album - complete with a beautiful jetty and buildings stretching out onto the river!

Superb stuff and I shall look forward to seeing the rest!!

Just to let you know that I have added another page to the site on the subject of World War 2 in Ludham. If you know where to look the evidence of wartime Ludham is all over the place and Margaret Watts has done a good job with this page. It's under the "Interesting Stuff" button.

The next Winter Walk is on the 10th of February. Meet outside Throwers shop at 2.00pm. As it happens it is a walk round the former RAF Ludham airfield.

There will be another guided walk round the airfield in the summer (sorry I don't have the date)

Hi All

I have added a new page to the Ludham Archive website showing progress on the barn conversion which has now started in Horsefen Road not far from Womack Staithe. If you are into grand designs, it should be of interest. It's under the "Interesting Stuff" button.
There is a long way to go yet and we will be adding more as the work progresses so keep looking in.

I am currently working on another 10 Boardman family albums and I will be adding more pictures to this section soon.

The RAF Ludham historical walk is on the 25th May. Meet outside Throwers at 2.00pm. Details on our Meetings page.

Hi All

Just to let you know that lots of new stuff has been added to the Ludham Archive website.

Current projects include a set of "Then and Now" photographs. There are some on the website already and more will follow. I have also been told of yet more albums of Boardman photographs so watch out for these in the coming months.

If anyone has anything which could be added to the Ludham Archive or to the website we would be interested in hearing from you. Also, if there is anything you would like to see on the website let me know.
