I know that several NBF members have frequented the above forum on occasions. Primarily a mobo forum it did/does have relevant and useful opinion, however it's been unavailable for several days now. Does anyone know if it's dead, dying or just hibernating? No question that it's traffic was slow, sometimes non existent, but it was good to read how the other half lives/lived.
ECB RIP?

The Broads is a member of the
National Parks family, it is
NOT a National Park though.

I did wonder what has happened as well. Its sister site the toll payers whatsit has also disappeared. Either a lengthy outage from their provider or Gavin's pulled the plug on both. I think ECB was struggling for posts in recent times.

Yes, as you say, the nsboa.org.uk is not resolving as a valid URL now either.

Since Nominet domain registration renewals are two yearly, it seems that the most likely reason is that there is no longer any webspace assigned to that URL rather than it expiring.

Was there no announcements or anything before the East Coast one disappeared ?

The NSBOA one seemed to be dormant for several months before disappearing.

I think I'm correct in saying that the toll payers association appeared something like a year ago. As you say domain registrations are normally two years so more likely Gavin has pulled the plug on whatever web hosting package he was using to host those domain names. Web packages are normally an initial year and then a rolling monthly contract unless you renew on a different deal. Or they could be having their own troublesome migration to another provider.

If it was simply a temporary glitch, I would have thought it would have been mentioned on their Facebook page, which also seems rather dormant. Perhaps a pm from NBF to Gavsta, by a member of both forums would solve the puzzle.

As far as I am aware the Toll Payers Association is dead in the water and
has no active committee anymore. I also heard that Gav's personal life was
being realigned and that could have something to do with the East Coast
forum. I cannot confirm any of this, it is just what I heard from someone
close to the action.

It will be missed if it is gone.

Should we really have someone's address on here?

Certainly would not like my address on here or any other forum. However as Lord Paul managed to get hold of it I imagine it is already in the public domain.

Anybody can look up that information using www.whois.com It is also possible for the person who registers a domain name to use either a business address or opt to have the address not listed.
