Agree with Nobby on this one.

If it has died then that is a shame, the concept was sound, sort of Anglia Afloat without the dreaded fashion page!!

Regardless of where the information can be found, I still would not want my address on a forum.

Griff pointed me towards ECB forum, and found them very welcoming.  It catered for a different leaning i.e. sea boats, of which I have one.  It was great for advice, and I just missed the CiC.

A real shame IF it has gone.  Hopefully it hasn't.

Does seem to have some life, but not much, pity.
Gav is a decent bloke, hope that he can revitalise it.

Uncle_Nobby The person who registered the domain made the decision whether the address should be in the public domain or not. They chose to put it in the public domain. If they don't have a problem with it, then it makes no difference if it ends up on here. They have already made the decision not to keep it a secret.

Happy to support the honest and reliable pubs and businesses of The Norfolk Broads.

It may well have nothing to do with the disappearance from our screens of the ECBF and NSBOA sites, but, as a general observation, forums that are only open to view by registered members (as these were) run a very real risk of the initial membership exhausting topics, moving on, the forum failing to attract new members (because of the blinds at the windows) and being left to ‘hard-core’ users. I reckon new blood is fairly essential to the continued existence of any forum.

Spot on Paladine, the trouble with the nsboa was that it did not know whether it was an association or a forum. The original idea was for it to be like the NSBA, a club with a website and local forum. However the debates turned to "hits" rather than "mission" and the rest is history.

East Coast Sailing

Is still going but very much reduced since Garth left to be Editor at Anglia Afloat. You can still download all the old mags which are a great East Coast read (not Broads though) if you are into the Rivers and Swatchways as far as the Medway.

Edited to say link will not work. Type or cut and paste into your browser.

Captain Howe.

Please leave the water and

find them.

East Coast Boating, not sailing. Mind you, the Captain's link worked for me, interesting read on a windy, wet day.

It would appear that after a lengthy hosting change it is back with all the old content migrated over as well. Would appear for what ever reason they have been through similar hoops that this forum went through not so long back.

Good to see the forum family complete again.

I see the NSBOA has resurfaced again as well, so presumably was going through the same host change.

The residual activity still appears unrelated though, with most new members having user names like "Luis znhbHkOnqWt"....
