I have just been researching Barton Broad Pike Fishing and found plenty of idea's tips and general guidance but funnily enough I can't find any help on here.
Only one local Angler has bothered to answer my queries and he was not giving a lot away as he is a Pike Guide and needs to make a living.Fair Do's to him but at least he gave me some gen on the best Baits to use in October.
I know all about the so called 'Hot spots' at Neatishead Dyke and Barton Turf and Gay's Staithe but they must get 'Hammered' so has any one actually fished the Broad itself.
I know early morning and after the Boaters have stopped for the night are the best times ...but where ....there's a lot of water on Barton.
A local tackle shop suggested the newly dredged boat lane might be worth a try but I could do with a little more advice as I only come down twice a year for a holiday and I'm not that well informed on Barton's Piking potential.
As an example in the last 4 years I have only caught one Jack at 8lbs on the actual Broad so you can see why I ask for advice.

Hi Judge, I've never fished barton broad myself, i usually stick to horning and Wroxham. But if you go onto YouTube there are a few good videos on pike fishing on that particular broad, discussing baits and methods. hope that helps.

I fished Barton on a weekly basis for several years, while there are a good head of Pike there I have never caught a 20 ,in fact any double was an unusual occorunce. Most of the Pike we caught were from the edges using surface lures such as Triple Impacts,  Heddon lucky 13, jitterbugs or even Frogs. I've sat for hours on Deads with little success but have had some success with slow sinking sub surface and jerk baits. I'm sure there are "big fish" there but Ive never found them. Great place if you want a day catching small jacks (27 in 3 hours for 2 of us is our best) but I think there are better waters if you want some proper sport.
