Is it the entrance to the private basin immediately upstream of Horning Church Moorings ?

What was going on when I passed M'Lud? Boats sideways across the river, and much shouting and gesturing.  Smile

Regards, Ray.

Whatever happens now, I'm blaming it on Brexit. Everyone else is!

‘Afternoon, Ray, since his Lordship is otherwise engaged, here's what you encountered ...

It was one of BB’s boats ( Brinks Sonnet - if memory serves ) which we had heard coming down river before we saw it, i.e. heard a very loud alarm sounding.

The concerned first time hirers had contacted BB who in turn advised them to seek a mooring a.s.a.p., and we were endeavouring to get them alongside as you approached, so they could switch off the engine as quickly as possible. There was enough space on the short section of quay heading, allowing easy access for the BB engineer who was en route.  On lifting the engine bay cover, it was apparent there was an overheating problem of some description due to the very high ambient temperature.

It wasn’t long before the BB engineer arrived, and determined the problem to be a severely choked raw water filter – solid with leaves and duck weed. We didn’t see that as the filter is not in the engine bay on that boat. Once sorted, he left and the hirers decided to stay the night, departing far happier the following morning to continue their holiday – very grateful for all assistance.

Steve.
