Hi
Further to discussions on the new Rhapsody on this thread http://www.the-norfolk-broads.co.uk/viewmessages.cfm?Forum=25&Topic=2424&srow=1&erow=10 I have come across these two pictures on this website http://www.waterwaysholidays.com/norfolkbroads.htm Pictures are of a sister ship.

hi fendoff, any idea what breed she is?

now ive seen these pics im a bit unsure about hiring her, she looks like she could be awkward to moor with the narrow (almost non existant) side walkways.

There's some more detail & pictures on the Barnes Brinkcraft website.

http://www.barnesbrinkcraft.co.uk/rhapsody.htm

Not quite sure what the attraction of this boat is - the dimensions aren't on the website but it looks only about 8ft wide.

Hi
I still don't know who is making it, there seems to be design elements from several different boats. The size is supposed to be 26 foot long by 8 foot 2 inches. I agree about the side decks they do appear very narrow for a hire boat.

after looking at those pics, and considering my options im now going to pop in to brinkcraft on tuesday and see if theres any sign of rhapsody yet. then possibly transfer onto brink of peace.
it seems a bit strange that when i asked a few questions about accesability with my booking enquiry, they then would not take my booking till the boat arrived in the yard.
i believe theres going to be a class of at least three of them, the design does look rather dangerous for young children in the cockpit, not much to stop them falling over the sides, or dogs slipping off for that matter, and this is advertised as a family boat.
they do however appear to have quite a few bookings for the season already, so someone must like them.
personally, i was just attracted to the idea of having a new small boat without everything looking like it was well past its sell by date!

I would have thought it would be like the side of a canal boat as they have narrow sides.

I've been waiting for some larger pictures as there seems to be a hatch in the foredeck and I was trying to see if any of the front screen slid aside. Given that Brinks say she will NOT go under Potter I assume that the cockpit screen is fixed. This might rule our Wroxham bridge and Beccles old bridge as well, given the it does not look like it's the width that would stop her going through Potter bridge

Hi,
In response to the queries regarding cockpit and side decks, I have added a couple more photo's of the sister boat to the Rhapsody to Waterways Holidays showing forward and rear views. http://www.waterwaysholidays.com/detail/brhapsody.htm

I looked at this boat and was sorely tempted. What put me off was the "cramped" interior and having slept in a half head height double I'll pass. Nice looker though, its nice to see many different styles in hire boats.
