Kingfisher just passed her 1000th sea mile this weekend after 17 months of use from new, nothing has broken, nothing has gone wrong, and even the servicing has to be done by Mr Volvo to maintain the warranty, it’s all a bit boring really and I have to keep finding new shiny bits to  fit to keep me occupied and so I can remember where I keep my spanners. Anybody else find that the pride in maintaining their boat is a material part of their enjoyment of ownership?

Well done David.
My little Freeman has clock just over a 1000 HOURS so I guess at 4 MPH that is about the same as yours, as I have had her for close on 4 years now.

Yes  I enjoy doing a bit of work on here but not woodwork !!
Daphne will tell you if I touch wood then is isn't even fit for burning after I have finished.

Now give me some metal and that is another story.

Credit to Beneteau and Mr Volvo David, 1000 miles in such a short space of time at various speed and conditions are a pretty good test.

At least with Kingfishers D4 out of warranty you can start 'tinkering'.

Also nice Madame Beneteau still remembers to send you boat show tickets, must be hoping at some stage for a sign up for a 42 Swift Trawler in the future  Wink

Hi David

I'm deeply jealous, i wish i could get 1,000 miles trouble free running out of my old Range Rover, 100 trouble free miles is pushing it sometimes. Oh well  the joys of owning an old BL made car.
