Hi
Looking for a bathing platform or our Ocean 30. the ready made ones are too small so it will have to be tailor made.We have had one quote just wondered if any member had had one made and by whom.

Many Thanks

Regards Pauline

Hi Paulen They are difficult to construct especially in stainless you need 1/1/4 to 1 1/2 od tubing when you weld the joints it all twists out of shape you need a jig to hold it in place which is  difficult which means cost, it then will need polishing again not easy, marine weld or stainless steel Norwich 01603427716.  Brooms,  Halls 01603626380. Or there's a welder at Ellough airfield through the gate then turn right and he is down there on the left, Or make one out of black iron steel tubing with screwed joints, you still will need the plates welding on but a lot easier on iron then stainless.Skill/work man ship all costs. Hi
Yes a bit surprised at the cost . Paul at Swancraft thought about £1500 ouch! He is very reasonable so probably won't get it any cheaper. We have had stainless work done by Marine weld good but not cheap. This quite is from the guy who used to be at Brooms. You get what you pay for. I just wondered if anyone had bought one off the peg. They only seem to go to 4 feet . Will probably stick with Paul. He is very reasonable  and a good guy to deal with.

Hi Pauline Just had a thought if you have one made, you might give some thought to the one i last made, i had the support brackets at each side going vertical for a foot then bent at a angle to connect to stern, this gave more tubeing to stop the platform catching under the quay heading, and was also bolted above the water line, normally they are supported from underneath the platform which does look neeter but is then often bolted to the stern below the water line which could leak if stressed with catching on the bank.John
