Good evening Question time please.....if anyone could please help ..? i have purchased a Quicksilver 270 inflatable with a Suzuki DT4 4HP 2 stroke outboard. I have looked at various sites and the handbook i received with my purchase and i am trying to work out the fuel consumption based on general use (ie: keeping within the Norfolk Broads speed limits) The inbuilt fuel tank is 2.8 litres..... Now.... just so i can get an idea of how much fuel i would need ....?? would i be able to leave the Waveney River Centre .. travel to the Oulton Broad yacht station and return to the Waveney Rivr Centre on the 2.8 litre inbuilt tank...??? or would i need to take a 5 litre back up...?? Many Thanks
I run a 2 stroke 20hp on my little boat, it has a 15 ltr tank and I always carry an extra 10 ltrs ready mixed in a metal jerry can. we often run it from Potter up to Horesy mill and use around 6 ltrs on the full trip there and back. Its not as economical as a 4 stroke or as quiet but works fine for us. plus 2 stokes are so simple to work on compaired to 4 strokes. Take an extra can and pre-mix the oil ready just to top up as needed.
Edited because my brain works faster than my fingers.
