Hi all!,can any of the wooden boat owners out there(Robin?) tell me if black tar varnish is compatible with bitumin paint? on hulls that is! Question

Hi Dave,
Yes tar varnish and bitumin paint are compatible but I would use bitumin paint in preference to tar varnish, this is what we use on Claypits Too and have done for a long time now, we use it up to the bottom rubbing strake instead of antifoul.

Does that stuff really work? I was a bit concerned about it after seeing all the growth that Pauls Hampton Safari had built up??
