We had a trip to Wroxham yesterday; had a look at a few boats belonging to Broads Tours which was nice but we decided against going it alone.  We both felt that my mobility limitations coupled with my wife being very small and petite we might struggle somewhat.  I'm not saying we couldn't of managed but to pay £700+ and the possibility of not 100% enjoying the break was a risk we we're not happy to take.

We'll wait until next year; hire a bigger cruiser and put 6 bodies on board.  We did have a fantastic lunch at the Recruiting Sargent at Horstead.

Hi Phillip,

I wouldn't give up on the idea too quickly; there are some lovely, smaller, easily handled boats about if you do a bit of searching and maybe some 'phoning.  We saw a couple on one of those cruisers that looks a bit like a static caravan on a hull... I confess I have been the first to mock such boats at times but, to be fair, it was super comfy - dead easy to get around with wide, safe walkways at the sides and easy steps up.  He told me it handled with ease - I think it had bow thrusters too and they were having a great week...

I do hope something works out for you...

Danny

Hi Danny

I'm not entirely sure what boat your talking about.  Are there any images kicking around on here?

Not my thing, I confess, but the couple we met were having a lovely time and finding the boat a joy to handle. The views from inside are great - big picture windows. Very safe to walk about, and a big comfortable cabin with walk around space both sides of the bed...

Thanks Danny

Its a floating bungalow  Smile   Not the best looking of craft but if it means we can have a break and not feel daunted by the prospect of mooring-up it's a winner.

Thanks for your helpful advice.
