Hi,We have just bought our first boat and have been told that the moorings she is on at the moment will no longer be available from March 2018. I was wondering if any body knows of any moorings that are or will be available at all? The boat is a freeman 22 mark2.We are currently in Beccels on the river Waveney. We are not bothered where we go and we don't need any facilities e.g electric hook-up, water, we would prefer side on moorings but if we could only get stern-on mooring then that would be fine. we are not bothered about been in a marina. If anyone could help we would be very grateful.

There maybe a space at Swancraft in Brundall if you want a mooring in a well kept yard with good facilities where your boat will be checked regularly by experienced helpful staff

Many Thanks Tim

This comes up time and time again, and often the best approach is go round and see the yards - a telephone call or email may not work!

Thanks, We don't live local so getting to go round the yards is a bit difficult we only get weekends and we don't know what is about, plus we are not bothered about going into a Mariana we don't need any services. I was hoping that maybe we could get info on moorings that are privately owned as this is what she is on at the moment but unfortunately the chap who owns them is reducing them this is why we have to move in March. But I am emailing the Marianas that are getting suggested.

Hi Cleo

I hope you find what you are looking for soon. I do understand that you live away and that  finding a new mooring remotely  seems like an attractive option but I do think you will have more success by devoting a couple of days to a visit.

If you think about it you are looking for someone to rent out a bit of their back garden to complete strangers.  Unless you take the trouble to turn up and ask around you are very unlikely to have much success.

That said I know Lodden marina are in the process of expanding capacity and might be able to fit you in. Again I think you will need to visit as the office isn't always manned during the winter months.

Good luck

Graham
