Hello everyone,

I've recently bought a 22ft cabin cruiser and I'm looking for a cheap mooring from April this year, I haven't had any luck so far with finding a place, does anyone know of any vacancies preferably north of Breydon water but not essential.

Many Thanks
Sue

Hi Sue and welcome to the forum. The words moorings and cheap are not often found in the same sentence, but I understand as mooring charges go, Broadsedge at Stalham are quite reasonable. Give them a call on 01692 582881 or 07584 341446.  Smile

Another welcome to the forum.

You should be aware that some marinas have a minimum charge e.g. you pay the rate for a 30' or 35' boat, even though yours is only 22'. There are 'minimalist' moorings around i.e with no facilities such as water or electricity, which need to be searched out. And a personal visit to enquire (if possible) often has a better result that an email or telephone enqiry.

Welcome from me to.

Paladine Is right about the personal touch. By their very nature cheap mooring tend to be informal ones and ones which require both parties to get on. A good rapport Is much easier to establish if you take the trouble to go and talk to the owner rather than reply on remote communications.

One suggestion Is to go for a temporary solution when you first arrive ( say three months if possible ) even if it quite expensive. It Is much easier to suss out potential mornings if you are actually on the water in the first place. Many are invisible from the road network.

Have fun

Graham
