A valid point.

There was someone in the 'porta-cabin' on the site, but no-one working under the bridge at the time of my visit. I may have just caught a tea-break.

My guess, for what its worth, is that they would prefer the water level to be lower than shown in Pally's shots. Its not easy working with the water that high - but they may have a wait!

Let's hope they don't wait until the Easter holidays!  There could be a queue of boats right back to Richardsons boatyard. Frown

I thought it meant that much of the time he was surrounded by violent workman or vicious dogs Gasp

Would I be right in thinking that they are not taking the opportunity to slightly raise the height of the fendering so that in high water conditions the path stays dry and the edge is more visable.  What AM I thinking about!

Nice thought Bill but looking at Pallys pics just replacing like for like.

We have only been through there a few times and never have liked the fact the water part is very narrow and hard to judge when the river is high. Pity they couldn't remove the path and widen it but I suppose we would end up with two hire boats wedged side by side Smile

Has anyone got any up to date information on this?  I know the work should be finished today but I was wondering if things are going to plan.  We're picking our boat up from Richardson's on Tuesday and I'm hoping that we can get under the bridge.  Because we're 8'6" draught we can't assume that we can get through during the restricted opening times.  Thanks in advance for any replies.
