Hi All

This is just a test to see if I can post a picture in this section:

You should see a picture from the 2007 Forum Meet. I think that counts as history:

Good news. This method works.

It will take a while to set up but I will be able to post some of the pictures I wanted to put on using this method. (See Forum FAQ for more information)

I have a message from Richard saying that he has fixed the problem of posting pictures in this section.
This is just a little test. You should see a picture of an older version of Ludham Bridge.

Hi Nigel, all I get on my iPad is the image ref. (MF_400.jpg) which opens another page.
I liked your older post where the image appear with the dialogue.
If this will work from iPad I may be tempted to post some pics here.

OK, so there is a lot of misunderstanding here. Sorry I was not clearer. This is the longer explanation:

The History section is a recent addition to the Forum (at my request). However, when Richard first created it, there was a bug in the software which prevented pictures being posted.

So, as a test, I tried posting the pictures to Flickr and then adding some html code to embed the picture in the post. This process works and results in the larger picture.

The normal process of posting pictures on the Forum adds a thumbnail which opens a separate tab with a larger image when you click on it. This was the bit which was not working.

Richard has now fixed the problem and you can post pictures in this section.

I prefer to post small numbers of pictures direct to the Forum because having to upload them to Flickr and then get a different bit of html code for each one is a bit of a pain. However, for large numbers of pictures (like for example those of the Forum Meet where I posted over 70), it is far easier to upload them to a Flickr Album and just add a link. Posting 70 odd pictures to the Forum can cause you to lose the will to live.

It is not difficult to embed larger pictures in any post but you first have to upload them to Flickr, Photobucket or some similar site. On Flickr, you can obtain the code from the share button. I guess Photobucket is similar. It will work with ipad.

If you are not familiar with terms like "Flickr", "html" etc, just ignore this post.

I hope this clarifies what I was trying to test. It is all sorted now.

Hi Cap'n

Well, your last post has left me a bit confused. Are you suggesting that the Broads Authority introduced a bug into the software preventing the posting of pictures in the History Section?
Personally, I think it might have been Richard who let the bug in, but I suppose you never know.
