Many thanks to John and his team.

There were a lot of good answers and information.

But I've got to say John, considering how big your feet are, you did a great job of tap dancing around a few.

Hopefully we can do this again at the end of the season.

There were also at least one unanswered question.

Obviously too difficult to answer.

I really must thank JP for joining us on a regular basis though some may not always be happy with the answers it is refreshing to have a Chief Executive who shows an interest in what people think It is up to us to ask difficult questions.Whilst many seem to have a personal dislike of the current CE at least we all know his name.I don't  know of any other CE's willing to join forums like ours.I am also sure many at Yare House keep an eye on what is being said and sometimes a act and more importantly remember points  for the future
I would also like to suggest we all try to read from time to time the minutes of various BA Committees. There is a lot of info in them and could lead to some interesting questions for next time.

Good Evening Richard,

Thanks for last night. I tried to pick up all the outstanding issues this morning.

Yes, very happy to repeat at the end of the season.
Last year it was on October 20th. October looks really busy this year so I wondered about Wednesday 1st November from 5:00 to 9:00 pm again. How would that suit you?

I don’t know what will be on the agenda by then. Things change relatively quickly.

The big things for the Authority over the next six months as far as navigation is concerned are:

Dredging
•     Shoals near Stokesby on River Bure (Apr to Jul)
•     North Bay in Oulton Broad (Apr to Jul)
•     Lower Waveney (Aug to Oct)
•     Lower Bure (Aug to Oct)

Navigation Maintenance
•     Rockland Short Dyke – creation of new 24 hr mooring (Apr – May)
•     Replacing ladders at priority 24 hr moorings, and install new ladders at North Quay, Great Yarmouth (May Jun)
•     Commissioner’s Cut 24 hr mooring – Thorpe St Andrew – timber refurbishment (Jun – Jul)
•     Cantley 24 hr mooring - timber refurbishment (Jul – Aug)
•     Berney Mill 24 hr mooring – create new BA 24 hr mooring (Aug)
•     Replace 24 hr mooring signs at priority sites (Aug)
•     Weed harvester programme with two vessels operating, one on northern rivers, one on southern rivers (Apr – Sep)
•     Mowing and vegetation maintenance programme on all 24 hr moorings (Apr – Oct)

June: Outcome of the CANAPE bid for EU funding towards the Hickling dredging and reed bed restoration project

I am hoping that waste won’t be a big issue this summer. We have had good news from Horning and Ludham where the Parish Councils have negotiated successful outcomes to retain the waste facility. We are making a small grant to Horning Parish Council to help them.

I am also hoping that we will have made some progress on moorings – several irons in the fire at the moment.

A couple of other things to look out for:

13 May: Annual Open Morning at Whitlingham. More information is here: http://www.broads-authority.gov.uk/news-and-publications/news/come-to-the-broads-authority-annual-open-morning

23rd May: Announcement of a new national parks partnership with a corporate sponsor

We are also submitting our £2.6m second stage bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund for the Landscape Partnership Project (decision expected in November)

28-29th June: coordinating the Broads Village at the Norfolk Show

I am signing off now – any further questions to my email address please.

In the meantime I hope you have a profitable summer.

Best wishes

John

Hello again John
Don't want to but in just like to say thanks to you and your team. (truth been known we had gone to bed when you wrapped up) so good night to you and your team. Communication never pleases all, us included but without it nothing is achieved.
Good night and regards
Marge and Parge

Evening John,

Many thanks for the bullet points, it's good to know what the plans are for the year.

It looks like there are a number of interesting things coming up this year. BTW I normally take a large size in jackets and wet gear, but can squeeze into a medium Wink

Cheers

Richard
