Isn't that a personal matter between employee and employer?

Normal retirement age is 65 but under the Equality Act 2010 a member of staff has the right to request not to be retired. Just saying "..for the avoidance of any doubt, the broads are not legally a national park and do not come under the national park legislation, and nor will they." Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for DEFRA (Hansard 2015)

JP will retire when he wants, like others its up to him, he could still be at the helm for many years to come.

This is what they have been asking over on the Norfolk Broads News page on Facebook, where they think that Ask JP isn't engaging with stakeholders. Also just saying.

Just being facetious this sort of rubbish doesn't help the situation.

He's not a national park chief. Let's keep things legal and The Broads are not, legally, a national park. Even Packman would have to agree with that statement.

Paladine is correct in his response, other than that there is no need for an employee to make a request to work beyond 65. There is now no such thing as a normal retirement age in relation to most jobs. This includes all posts at the Broads Authority and as far as I am aware the same is true for the 14 National Park Authorities in the UK. As an exception to the general rule I understand that circuit judges for example have to retire at 70. Regards John
