Word along the waters is that Silverline have stopped hiring and the entire fleet are on the move this Friday/Saturday. However they will continue to build boats.

I believe that this has been on the books for some time but I didn't realise that it had actually come about. Any clues as to where the boats are going?

Gosh that is a shock and very disappointing. Another Southern boatyard gone. The Southern Broads are much preferable.

Well, a Klingon starship was seen hovering over Brundall
But it does seem as if the Southern Broads are experiencing something of a further decline. Will this mean that the Northern Broads will become increasing crowded, as hirers are left with fewer alternatives as to where to start their holidays?

The Southern Broads is a predominant boatbuilding rather than boat-hiring area and has been for some time now. Silver Line, apparently, is to remain as a builder which, I think, is to be applauded.
That said, I do miss the holiday atmosphere that the numerous South Rivers yards brought to the area. Why 'down South' has lost its appeal to so many visitors I really don't know. We have some really good pubs, lots of moorings, less clamour and some really nice attractions.
