I moved from VodaFone about 4 months ago having been with them for approx 20 years.

I've gone to EE who also provide my home broadband via a SIM card. I stream the radio via my phone in the car and, so far, I've not had any drops.

Not sure what it'll be like on the rivers though.

Gary.

I was with Voda from 1988 till 2017 and only left them when prices started getting a bit daft when I wanted data. I then spent a few years with Three, but the coverage was a bit patchy and in the Horning black hole, useless.

I've been with Talkmobile  which rides on the Voda network for the last 3 years. It's a lot cheaper than Voda and the coverage is generally good, even in Horning.

My wife's phone is on EE and the coverage isn't so good especially in Horning (where we moor). Sky mobile rides on O2, not sure how good or bad they are.

Thanks anyway.
Voda have just announced another cost increase just thought I would shop around and have a look at my options.
Apparently I use less than 1 Gb a month of my 5 gb allowance so obviously I don't need much of that lol

I’m looking at Lebara, they use Vodafone, as my Vodafone bills are getting silly. Any here used them?

(Sorry for piggybacking your thread)

With kind regards

Bluebell beat me to it. I was going to suggest Lebara. Both them and Talkmobile have the advantage of using the Vodafone network but at a fraction of the cost. Lebara has the added advantage of chucking in free foriegn calls. Useful if you have family or friends who live abroad.

I've used Lebara for mifi on the boat, but found it was just as easy to hotspot onto my phone (on Vodafone). It rather depends on how you use your phone. There seems to be a consensus that Vodafone is generally the best bet for the Broads for service.

If you make international calls, Lebara gives 100 free minutes. If you want quite a bit of data as well, yes, Vodafone is expensive BUT if you go to MobilePhonesDirect web site, MobilePhonesDirect they are selling Vodafone sim-only on a 12-month contract at:

£14pm (with cashback) for 100GB and £17pm  (with cashback) for 200GB, both with unlimited calls/texts.

Labara's prices atm(which include unlimited calls/texts plus 100 mins international call) are:

3GB/£5pm, 15GB/£10pm, 30GB/£15pm and unlimited data £25pm.

I've dealt with Mobile Phones Direct and have had no problems (it's part of the AO group).

"...the decision taken by the Authority was to adopt a brand name which included the words “National Park”. That term is only to be used for marketing purposes and the legal regime within the Broads remains unaltered." [Harris v BA 2016]

A little off beam perhaps but work is supposed to have started on the new Chedgrave Mast which should improve things in this area this summer.
