Hello, just joined the site,i was hoping some one could advice about bringing my small boat up from wells next the sea to spend maybe weekend on the broads. Do i need to buy a licence for day or week, the slipway i use can i leave my car and trailer there, is it best to head for a marina. The first plan is to head for the nearest broads to Wells. Any help would be more than appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.

You will need a short visit toll and a minimum of third party insurance. You won't need a BSS certificate, but may be subjected to a safety check.

Regarding slipways, several of the boatyards offer this facility, with reasonably secure parking, but at quite a cost. A list, and photos, of other publicly-accessible slipways can be found here. Depending on the size of your boat, I would suggest Sutton Staithe parish slipway for your first expedition. It has good access, adjacent parking, gives immediate access to one of the nicest parts of the Broads, and help would be on hand (if needed) from the guys in the boatyard.
