Here is a wild idea. Its fairly busy road, why not build a petrol station with shopping facilities and a water side fueling option?

Edited because my brain works faster than my fingers.

Hi

I can see a few drawbacks to any new food business there.

1) Limited amount of moorings on that side of the river.
2) Two other now well established places to eat and drink with good moorings, The Bridge Inn and Pedros.
3) Less foot fall on this side of the river due to the hire boatyards on the other side and more mooring space.

But good luck to whoever goes for it, maybe we could have the first ever McDonalds riverside 'Cruise Through'  LOL of a KFC without chicken  LOL .

John.

Kind regards, John(Captain

Can't see there being any mooring problems there John ,  in fact more moorings , yes you've got the two hire boat yards the other side , but are they still charging to moor on the horizon craft bank ? At least now the BA have now the moorings they'll be free , all clear of the boats that was mooring there for a yearly fee , I was hoping a small shop would be there still to do food supplies , anyhow good luck to who takes on the catering

I can see that anyone taking this on could be

days trip over or back from Breydon.

I don’t see why there should be any drawback to catering that side of the river. As has already been said, there will be quite a few moorings that side and there is nothing to stop anyone from walking across the bridge. The main thing is that the catering proposed is different to both the Bridge Inn and Pedro’s, the BA have asked for teas, coffees, snacks and ice creams and these will provide just what is needed in that location imo.

A Renaldi's ice cream van would work or better still reopen the store that was there with milk bread etc boats have tea coffee etc on board so why stop just for that and have to stand to drink it. John

Something like THIS, you mean.

Cheers
