I see plans have now been lodged with the "Broads Authority" for 12 residential moorings, 8 Chalets with moorings + visitor moorings.

colingy, worry ye not. The link works just fine. The difficulty other places had with the link was due to a problem with the BA web site, which now seems to have been fixed.  Smile

But, just in case the url changes and the link breaks, the planning application number is BA/2018/0312/FUL

Read the plans, all seems good to me. Best of luck with your endeavours, that place has been an eyesore far too long.  Smile

It is true that the derelict site was in urgent need of renewal.
I do however find it extraordinary that planning permission for housing along this very narrow ribbon of land would be allowed to go ahead.  There are several surprising aspects to that. The first is clearly the fact that this land lies inside the flood wall!  While it is true the houses will need to be raised, this does not detract from the fact that other possible developments nearby have been refused on the grounds that they lie within a high risk flood zone, even when they are the 'right side' of that same flood wall!! The second point is that the adjoining Bure Park will lose all of its river views.  While the marina site is awful, the park has been, over the last few years improved and without very careful stipulations for the houses, the buildings would seriously detract from the park.
I am all for the redevelopment of the site, but looking at the plans, I am not filled with confidence that this is quite the right move.

Hello Knackered
Will floating pontoons be installed for the moorings?
If not with the winter high and low tides I can see a few accidents occuring.
When Line Azzure were there I saw 3 or 4 turn turtle out of season on the change in tide levels,
Colin

No pontoons I'm afraid but it has been dredged and we are installing riding posts to Provent any catching up at extreme tides
